The Velo-city 2013 conference program has been designed in cooperation with the Austrian Cycling NGO Radlobby Österreich, as well as with Austrian Universities and various Viennese cultural institutions. A special focus has been placed on developments in eastern and southeastern European cities. The conference invites cycling experts from all over the world; from different cycling-related fields such as social cultures, the environment, health and economics, amongst others.
Velo-city 2013 Vienna features a rich program to facilitate professional expertise and debate, informal opportunities for networking, experience of Vienna’s (bicycle) cultural diversity and interaction with the Viennese population during public events. The program offers a mixture of established and interactive conference formats, such as lectures, round tables, lightning talks, a speed dating and workshops, and other informal events that will be technical, cultural and recreational.
Beyond the conference program, numerous specialized excursions, trips and side events will be on offer before, during and after the conference for participants, accompanying persons and Vienna’s citizens. The bicycle parade Vienna Bicycle Corso, Garden Party, Velo-city 2013 Expo Reception and various technical and cultural excursions are all part of the official conference program to ensure a relaxed atmosphere and to facilitate networking.
