The root as a " barrier breaker ”
Creating an underground area for recreational activities such as bicycle, skateboard, running and jogging. The area serves as an underground path between streets. Its build from three lanes which constructed according to the relevant activity and the surface which create a space that enables different difficult levels of riding and running. The lanes cross and split, going up to the surface and then down and by that creating surface changes.
Why is it that whenever we face a barrier there is something inside us willing to break it, pass through it, go ahead, change, move from the state we are at and enable other options , new ones. And how’s this single action that we will do will affect the rest of our actions ? And are we in fact in a constant situation of breaking barriers and by that each of our actions will impact the following action ?
I focused on the tree root as an object that piercing into the ground. I inquired his development as an source of conceptual inspiration that accent my perception to the need to break the barriers
I created a form language that expresses my perception of the need to break the barriers as an analogy to the development of the root in the speculative level. A break of barriers is sequential, the more we break the barriers of ourselves, we are progressive, strengthen and see things in changeable scale, point of views and perspectives.
The structural of the model - exists a main axis of movement that inside it there are internal pass's which from within ramify second axes that produce a movement in the external expanse. Structural logics - the main axis is start in certain diameter and thickness which goes and “stretched ” until it get to the point in which the diameter is the most small and the thinnest that the axis can carry itself. From this point dichotomy created. The axis arrived to the barriers point, exists for it a difficulty and he produces itself a support by secondly condensation. From the same point, the diameter is growing and becomes thick, up to the situation in it again hard for it to carry itself. And again created a situation that it produces itself support by going down to the ground and from this point the process returns on itself in changeable scale and created different point of views and perspectives. From within the personal process that I passed, in the attempt to understand where the need to break the barriers comes from and by the inspiration from the root, I chose to plan an underground area “ barriers breaking” that dialog with the street. The conceptual model is the basis for the planning which I located it under the street and in a certain places there will be permeability to the street according to the analysis of its characteristics.
I studied the light sources that take place in the street and chose to relate importance to the shadow that they create.

Bicycle is urban transportation means. Because of veteran city that built in the great congestion, the target is to encourage the use of bicycle as a transportation tool for ride in the city, to work, to studies, to purchases, to leisure and for vacationer. Transition of mass users toward riding on bicycle will help to the reduction of the air pollution, the noise and the congestion that exist in city and it will improve the quality of life for the residents. Bicycle are egalitarian tool for transportation, that enable mobility and also to whom that don't own a private vehicle or driving license, to whom that the public transportation are expensive for him and also to whom that choose to evade from the congestion in the streets and from the distress of the parking. Bicycle are tool of worth transportation for all pocket immune to jam, and friendly to the environment.

The terrain are compound from strips of iron that visualize the signs of gliding that made by wheel of bicycle, it will be in a different densities in order to manufacture matter and ranks of difficulty to riding.
The bicycle path is the highest from the three lanes, it will enable for the riders to ride and even to perform special exercises effects. During progress in the lane there is a possibility to go out from the pathway into the terrain and go back to the ground and to returned.
The skateboard serves to gliding and to performance special exercises effects.

The terrain are compound from strips of iron that visualize the signs of gliding that made by wheels of Skateboard that manufacture Special exercises effects Skateboard surfaces, in order to manufacture matter and ranks of difficulty to riding. The Skateboard pathway has the widest thick from the three lanes, it will enable for the riders to perform special exercises effects. During progress in the lane there is a possibility to go out from the pathway into the terrain and go back to the ground and to returned. Running is the people fastest form of movement. According to the athletic definition the difference between running to walking is that at running there is a point of time that both of the legs do not touch at the ground, while in walking at least one leg touches in the ground at any given moment.
From within attempt to understand the needs to creation of lane to walking / running, I began to test the expanse type that I will create for this end. The terrain are compound from form strips of iron that visualize the footsteps signs at the running time. It will be in a different congestions, the terrain will raised while its dense and gradual lowered in the areas that are not congestion, in order to manufacture matter and ranks of difficulty to running.
The jogging pathway has medium compatible dimensions for its needs. During progress in the lane there is a possibility to go out from the pathway into the terrain and go back to the ground and to returned.
I arranged hierarchy that define and divides the street. The street is divided to three areas which in the middle there isn't a movement of vehicles, therefore the main activities will be in this area. In the areas which the street is divides by the highway, in the sides of the sidewalk I defined a pathway for riding on bicycle & skateboard that won't interfere with the movement of the pedestrians, and in the islands that cross the street to two lanes, I chose to define as an area for rest and not to riding. After those decision and in respectively to the mapping that I edited on the light and the shadow I received the places where the penetration that emphasize it, and create a gates which the riders and the pedestrians will be able to move between the street and the underground structure.
The underground area was planned in his basis according to the structural and the logics of the conceptual model which it developed to structure that compound from three lanes, to cyclists, to skateboard and for walking / running, in certain places they existing together and split in order to break the terrain. Each pathway receives a different constructive relation according to the needs of his activity.
The underground level that allowing movement inside the ground is divided for three areas. The central site is defined as place of meeting and rest for the three pathways together and in it there are sitting corners, installations of skateboard hanging & bicycle parking. The right side of the level is for cycling which the area that they ride in is serve also as surfaces to the performance of special exercises effects. The left side of the level is destined to the riders of the skateboard when the passages in them they slid serve also for them as ramps to the performance special exercises effects and in addition there will be in those sites also approach to the pedestrians that will be able view in the riders.
In the big city there are a subways transportation. The structure that I planned can be placed next to the train stations and will serve as a transition to the street.
The structure is made of ecological concrete and will be environmentally friendly. The lighting activated by bicycle pedaling energy positions which will provide the power.
In conclusion, I create a space that the movement of the cyclists, skater and the pedestrians, empowering its experiential significance of the concept to break the barriers by the immediate transition between the street & the underground level with the intention to encourage to athletic activity and to bicycling for their advantages to the environment.
