The pixel is a multifunctional Cafe and Bike storage repair stop, designed on an orthogonal grid, with entirely adaptable elements including optional layouts and furniture arrangements. The Pixel like its name sake is in an adaptable social environment designed to to create a new and flexible social public space.

Pixel
In digital imaging, a pixel, is a physical point in a raster image, or the smallest addressable element in a display device; so it is the smallest controllable element of a picture represented on the screen.

The pixel is a multifunctional Cafe and Bike storage repair stop, designed on an orthogonal grid, with entirely adaptable elements including optional layouts and furniture arrangements. The Pixel like its name sake is in an adaptable social environment designed to to create a new and flexible social public space.

Concept
The pixel is an adaptable system, it is designed to respond to changes in it\'s environment with a spatial response. These spatial responses include differing strategies for Daytime, Nighttime as we all as different strategies which can be implemented to respond to environmental/seasonal factors, site conditions as well as security requirements. The formation of the units is altered by their movement vertically, this can be achieved either manually or via motorised jack system.

Program
The Pixel module includes a cafe, bike repair area and tools as well as integrated E-bike charging stations. The cafe adaptable space can be reconfigured to suit multiple programmatic needs including community meetings and a cinema. The bike repair area is over sailed by a bike pulley system with integrated e-bike charging system which creates cathedral-like spatial experience with bikes hanging above; this also provides more floor space at the ground for bikes maintenance. The Pixel Furniture allows for flexibility, and continues the concept of modular adaptable entities into its design. The furniture can take a variety of formations including partitions, shelving units, planters or simply be used as tables and chairs.

Tectonic + detail
The Pixel uses Trimo Materials throughout. The Trimo modular unit are finished in Trimo qbiss panelling system externally, and white akripol acrylic finish internally.

Sustainability
The Pixel uses sustainable technologies such as the Trimo integrated photovoltaic roofing system, to generate all required energy on site. The system also uses Trimo qbiss highly insulated panels to maintain warmth over the winter period, thus minimising energy requirements. Integrated water waste systems can also be implemented, thereby creating a holistic sustainable strategy.

Conclusion
The Pixel is a modular adaptable system designed to be implemented in any site any location. This flexibility allows for this system to recreate itself in line with any programmatic (cinema, office) or technical requirements, thus rendering it the ideal format for providing a rapid response accommodation any site and situation at a variety of scales.
