Beijing’s bicycle culture needs a comeback. Cars, roads, and smog now consume the city, as “modern” residents leave their bicycles behind. This project proposes a bicycle transit center prototype for Beijing, woven as a network into the elevated highways that dominate the once human-scale city. The bicycle centers create an attractive alternative lifestyle to catalyze a bicycle revival in Beijing.

Urban cycling needs appropriate infrastructure! A new organizational element for road intersections may help: The Viennese diagonal aims especially at cycle highways and allows a “one-step crossing” in contrast to the traditional and widespread “two-step-crossing”, where cyclists need to wait at least one period at traffic lights and are being confronted with limited space and sharp turns.

Where is the nearest bicycle shop, public bicycle or bicycle parking lot? A collaborative map done by cyclists for cyclists is underway to answer that, also a map that helps citizens and government find the best routes for cycling in downtown. For the next 3 years Rio will spend a lot on roadwork for the Olympics 2016, so it’s the golden hour to map and implement new infrastructure for bicycles.

The main idea of the project is to make bike culture visible in the city. For that we propose ‘race’ as a urban game in which bicycle paths together with bike stations create a chain of possible bike tracks in Ljubljana. The stations function as check points providing basic city information and as ‘pit stops’ for service and as simple shelter in case of bad weather.

Shouldn't a cyclist, who uses the most eco- friendly mode of transport and yet is relegated to the fringes of a road, be allowed the right to bypass traffic and cut from point A to point B through the city greens? What if we connect these green short-cuts to form an exclusive cycle tracks network for the city?

Venice, the city on water, is an amazing work of art, a living museum, and real-world example for urban planners seeking to help reduce car use, increase physical activity, and maximize the enjoyment of public space. Yet presently, the bicycle, that miraculous invention with so much to offer a healthier, more sustainable city, has no role beyond children's play in plazas. Why not float bikeways?

TBRs combine an advancement in cyclist facilities with the correction of shortcomings in the tram system in Vienna. TBRs ought to be installed alongside those already existing tram routes that connect centre and outskirts. On TBRs the tram runs on its proper track, while the street on both sides of the track is reserved for bikes. TBRs are priority roads, i.e. cross-roads are subordinated.

Most transportation bicycles on streets simply caused the present failure of integration between bicycles and public transit. They had effectively reduced efforts of all cities to promote cycling as the major transportation mode. We need innovative design of bicycles and new storage methods to handle huge numbers of bicycles in cities. A real GREEN TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM is proposed.

is key to succeed in the private housing sector, and that is why we decided to minimize the
