Livable Power Shelter (LPS)
We believe that sheltering and recharging our bicycle, is more than just putting it inside a
box covered with photovoltaic panels. Managing space and function in a efficient manner
is key to succeed in the private housing sector, and that is why we decided to minimize the
space occupied by the parked bicycle, along with the inclusion of the place to sit and soft
Year 2013, a systemic crisis, both economic, environmental and social, is constantly advertised to the global population. We, as inhabitants of planet Earth, a finite world with finite resources, enjoy and embrace the challenge of rethinking lifestyles in general, and mobility in particular, so that resource consumption refrains, and proper solutions redirects us towards a more sustainable future. Our approach aims to create a quality Living Space, with the sum of the required elements. Instead of creating a bulky garage to leave the bicycle, we propose a Livable Power Shelter, capable of all required functions (protection and recharging), plus sitting and lighting. Our proposition gathers the elements that constitute the contemporary public space, such as vehicle, road, buildings, lightning, energy, trees and plants, benches, and melts it all into a one single dynamic element.

Managing space and function in a efficient manner is key to succeed in the private housing sector, and that is why we decided to minimize the space occupied by the parked bicycle, along with the inclusion of the place to sit and soft lighting solution. The solution intends to provide a modular system capable of several different finishing solutions. This enables the Shelter to be compatible with different quantitative needs and also to blend into the owner environment. The Single Bike Module dimensions are 2,11×1,09×1,40m (H,L,D). It only occupies the reduced area of 1,53m. This unit can incorporate 36 PV cells [(6×2)+(6×4)] and has plenty of possibilities for backup batteries volume.
There are three moments in this Single Bike Module: 1. Bench; 2. Dock; 3. Ramp;
The First is defines the capacity to use the Shelter as a place to stay, mingle in a relaxed
and comfortable space. Technically can incorporate under the seat, several backup
batteries. The Second incorporates several functions: a) Magnetic Docking Security System; b) Recharging Connection; c) Ambient Lighting; and other functions can be simplified or more ambitious, in a plug-in, user customized production logic.
The Third is the ramp that allows the rider to gently slide the bicycle into (near) vertical
Multiple LPS Bike Module, compatible with private gardens or common spaces in apartment blocks is achieved with the additions of the desired 1, 2 or 3 modules according to specific needs.
Electrically Assisted Bicycle
We are proposing a new bicycle with several in-frame functions:
Electric motor assisting back wheel;
ID Card Security System;
Gyroscopic GSM Alarm System;
Small Objects Compartments;
Our suggestion to materialize this Bicycle frame is to use high pressure injected recycled
PET, along with more conventional material in the bicycle industry. The pedalling system is the conventional chain with 3 to 6 speeds. The only design imposition is to set the moving and greasy parts inside the frame, in order to avoid the typical annoying problem of stains on the rider clothes. The light frame achieved will compensate the seamless introduction of technology that is already part of our daily live, and have long ago been integrated in the automobile industrial design. Comparing the evolution of the Car steering wheel, with the Bicycle handlebar design evolution in the last 60 years, it is remarkable that car industry has incorporated many functions, while bicycles manufacturers continue to externalize those needs to the accessories market.
