The Village Bicycle

The Village Bicycle

Everyone get a ride - we use recycled bikes that we collect at people's home to offer as rentals all around town, owned and manned by unemployed young adults, who use the bkes as their own transport as well as rentals.

We collect unsued bikes from people's homes
In exchange, we service and repair their current bikes
Then, we repair the collected ones, at my home
And we place them all around town, in ownership and to the benefit of the individual operators, who lock them up when not in use, and use it for their own, and their friends' transport, at the start and end of each day.
And during the daytime, it gets rented out to students, office workers, for short trips, and to tourists to the village.
The revenue is kep by the owner-operator, with 20% going to a central pool for the purchase of equipment, parts, and further training.

We don;t have any images yet, and only have our main website as link - we'll have most things up and running by end January 2013.
