Bikes are beautiful! Join and ride!

The bike is growing as an important mean of transportation all over Europe. Being environmental friendly is hip! Part of the young, coffee drinking, healthy, fresh, self-made generation is identity. This identity can be provided by the bike, as a tremendous variety of bikes is available. Above all, this is the message this acupuncture urban intervention conveys

Bikes are beautiful! Join and ride!

By creating a cycle hot-spot, this pavilion can act as cycling advocate. One can pump their tires, recharge electrical bikes, rent a city-bike and enjoy the bike-expo wile drinking a coffee.

As the pavilion consists of three container units, it can be moved around as a moving exhibition and hide out for cyclists. The containers screen a south-oriented terrace, inviting cyclists in for a coffee break or lunch, using the free wifi, recharging the smartphone/ electrical bike and pumping their tires.

Moving upstairs, an extension of the terrace looks over the park to which the pavilion forms an entrance.

The coffee bar extends towards the cycle path in front, reaching out to cyclists rushing by, briefly stopping for their coffee on the go.

To the North, the pavilion sets the bicycle on display. The exposition of the state of the art bike-design shows the newest inventions hanging in front of the window facing both the train line and the entrance of the city.

Just overlooking the bike stand and bike rental making a bike available for all those in need of a quick ride.

The pavilion consists of three container units opened up to allow the spaces to merge together. The bar is added separately. On monthly basis new bikes can be put on display at the side of the pavilion.
