Ciclocostura

"Cilcostura" is a "Do It Yoursel" workshop focused on expermient, develop and reproduce prototypes of clothes or accesories for cyclists. Our aim is to encourage people to make their biking activity more confortable, beauty and also afordable Our project is free and open to the people and we register and publicate our development it in a website http://ciclocostura.wordpress.com/

Our workshop is about transform regular clothes in more bike friendly one, but taking care about the stile, we integrate element form the ugly vest on a jacket or other kind of clothes

Our project, born in the context of the emergence of many bike"self repairment" workshop in social centres in Madrid related to the emergence of the Critical Mass here.


We do that in a social centre, Tabakalera (http://latabacalera.net/) a space open to the people and self managed projects. where all the activities are for free.

Since we sarted one year ago we have met us each Thusday for 3 or 4 hours.
Our procedure: We propose an activity / experimental via mailing lists and website. Always open to propose from people. We remind people to bring their own scissors, thread, the garment to transform (jacket, trousers, sweatshirt...) and the elements than they want to incorporate. A vest, reflectance, zippers.

We work on it, we take photos about the procedure and we publicate them as tutorials in our website.
